Gill holds up Dow nomination

State Sen. Nia Gill (D-Montclair) has not yet signed off on Gov.-elect Christopher Christie’s nomination of Paul Dow as state Attorney General, causing a delay in the confirmation process.  Traditionally, the Senate Judiciary Committee completes an early review of the new Attorney General so that the Senate can have the option of holding a confirmation vote in the hours following the governor’s inauguration.   Now it looks like Dow will have to wait until after Christie takes office to begin her confirmation process, and sets the stage for an early battle over senatorial courtesy.
