Gillibrand was answering a reporter’s question about Ford while appearing in Long Island City alongside Rep. Carolyn Maloney, the Manhattan congresswoman who last summer flirted with the idea of running against Gillibrand.

“Harold Ford may call me weak. I call Harold Ford wrong for New York,” Gillibrand said.

In explaining her comments, Gillibrand referenced Ford’s voting record as a congressman from Tennessee that she characterized as against abortion rights and same-sex marriage.

Gillibrand also said Ford has an “anti-Obama” agenda.
