NYC official will be Christie’s state treasurer

Gov.-elect Christopher Christie is expected to nominate Andrew Eristoff, the former New York Commissioner of Tax and Finance and the former New York City Finance Commissioner, as his State Treasurer, according to a New York Times report.  Christie has scheduled an 11AM news conference in Newark.

Eristoff served as a New York City Councilman, representing a heavily Democratic Upper East side district, from 1993 to 1999, and lost a State Senate race in 2002.  He is a graduate of Princeton University and Georgetown Law School.
