Paterson Campaign Staffer Gets Out

David Paterson’s campaign spokeswoman is departing, according to what she said was a “business” decision.

Here’s Tracy Sefl’s email:

Good morning,

I wanted to share with you that effective today I will no longer be serving as an advisor to Governor Paterson’s campaign.  It has been a privilege to work for the Governor over the past year.  My decision is a business one and I remain supportive and admiring of him and his agenda for the state.  I wish him and his team — both at the campaign and inside the Executive Chamber — much success.

Baruch College professor Doug Muzzio, quotable as usual, said Sefl’s departure “speaks volumes; rodents abandon sinking ships.”

UPDATE: Campaign manager Richie Fife emails to say, “Governor Paterson thanks Tracy for the hard work and advice she provided. We wish her well in all her future endeavors.”
