Cooking an egg—it sounds so very simple, right? And yet, even if you are already confident in your egg-boiling skills, the Web site EggWatchers is pretty entertaining, as it aims to make this basic kitchen skill foolproof.
EggWatchers asks some very basic questions—how big your egg is; whether it comes from the refrigerator; and how you’d like your end result (a choice of runny, squidgy or firm). After you’ve answered, the site will tell you how long you need to boil your egg and even sets a timer for you. “We’ve designed EggWatchers with hopes to banish forgetting, boredom and bad cooking,” says the creators of the site. We think they’ve succeeded.
