For New Jersey, maybe the New York Times is not an even-year newspaper

The New York Times, aggressive in their coverage of the 2009 gubernatorial campaign, did not report on Gov. Christopher Christie’s address to the Legislature yesterday.  That could mean the newspaper of record is an odd-year player: in 2008, the NYT did not write a single story on the  race for United States Senator between Frank Lautenberg and Dick Zimmer, and then wrote an editorial endorsing Lautenberg, saying “New Jersey voters deserved a better race this year than the nearly invisible contest.”
