Hermansen endorses Tyburczy for freeholder

Bergen County Freeholder Rob Hermansen endorsed Bergen County Young Republican Chairman Ken Tyburczy for freeholder at a county committee meeting last night.

Hermansen said Tyburczy won him over by dint of hard work on last year’s gubernatorial freeholder and District 36 campaigns.

“When you start to think of the reasons we won last year and why we’re going to win this year again, you have to have that drive,” said Hermansen.

Hermansen said that he will likely endorse two more candidates as the March 18 convention approaches.

Nine Republicans have filed to run for the Bergen County Republican Organization’s support for three freeholder slots, all of which are currently held by Democrats.  In addition to Tyburczy, there’s John Felice, a former River Edge councilman and son of former Assemblyman Nicholas Felice; John Mitchell, a consultant who has run unsuccessfully for council in Cliffside Park several times; Raymond Herr, a former Fairview councilman and a candidate for Bogota council last year; Jeff Bader, a councilman from Woodcliff Lake; Rosina Romano, the former mayor of South Hackenack; Frank Valenzuela, the mayor of Rochelle Park; John Criscione, a former Fort Lee councilman; and Maura De Nicola, the mayor of Franklin Lakes.
