Scarafile obtains petitions to challenge Stack

Relishing the prospect of a people-power fight if also grimly conscious of the political behemoth that already leveled him four years ago, Frank Scarafile picked up petitions yesterday to run against Union City Mayor Brian P. Stack.

“I’m not going to make an official announcement until next week,” said Scarafile, the superintendent of Little Ferry schools, whose late father of the same name served as deputy chief of Union City.

One of five men arrested on Dec. 4th last year and charged with forgery, falsifying records and harassment for what he maintains was little more than himself and his allies distributing anti-Stack fliers, Scarafile has filed a counterclaim in Superior Court seeking $1 million in damages from Stack and Union City, according to the Jersey Journal.
