Here’s a graph that shows the shift in poll numbers between Andrew Cuomo and David Paterson in a hypothetical gubernatorial race.
There are actually two new polls today, both showing Cuomo leading Paterson among Democrats.
The Quinnipiac poll also has a more detailed breakdown of voters, by ethnicity. Paterson leads Cuomo 42 to 34 percent among African Americans, but the poll also said African-American voters, by a margin of 73 to 22 percent, would not view a Cuomo challenge to Paterson as racially divisive.
Of course, this all should be taken with a grain of salt, considering Cuomo hasn’t even announced his candidacy.
