Vote to end COAH likely to come soon

The State Senate could vote on a plan to abolish the Council on Affordable Housing as early as this month, according to Senate Economic Growth Committee Chairman Raymond Lesniak (D-Elizabeth).  Legislation sponsored by Lesniak would give the municipalities the power to locate affordable housing opportunities and would have that supervised by the State Planning Commission.  He says New Jersey cities could receive as much as $120 million in aid if his plan to transfer power to municipalities.
