Carney pursuing re-election in Atlantic County

Atlantic County Surrogate James Carney announced today that he will seek the Democratic nomination for his re-election as county surrogate at this year’s Atlantic County Democratic Party convention on Sunday, March 28th.

“Now more than ever, I believe our county residents need leaders with proven experience and compassion when it comes to delivering critical services,” said Carney of Egg Harbor Township. “I am humbly asking the voters I serve to re-elect me so that I can continue my program to modernize and upgrade the operations and functions of the Surrogate’s offices, and continue to provide fiscal responsibility by delivering the most efficient and cost-effective service.”

“Over the last four years, I have worked with Atlantic County residents during their most difficult hours following the loss of a loved one, or other stressful times,” added Carney, referring to the main functions of the office to probate estates, appoint executors and administrators, guardians of minors and incapacitated persons, processing adoptions.

The surrogate is pursuing his second term in office.
