You know what they say about people who live in glass penthouses. Well, they'd better not be afraid of heights. With 360-degree windows wrapped around the 23rd-story of Jean Nouvel's 100 Eleventh Avenue, this Chelsea penthouse has some dizzying views to accompany its sky-high price tag.
The brand-new Douglas Elliman listing calls this the "the jewel in the crown that is Jean Nouvel's iconic masterpiece." No stranger to hyperbole himself, the French architect referred to this 1,700-window building as his "vision machine." Given the $22 million price tag on this penthouse, one would expect nothing less.
The apartment's white-on-white décor may be uninspiring, but it's hard to complain with the Manhattan skyline for wallpaper. There are four bedrooms, two fireplaces and a 4,400-square-foot terrace. With those 14-foot windows and views all the way to the Statue of Liberty, just don't look down. — Laura Kusisto
