Lance facing three announced conservative candidates in 7th District primary

U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton) now faces no fewer than three candidates running to the right of him in the 7th Congressional District Republican Primary on pro-business platforms.

Tewksbury businessman David Larsen and Westfield businessman Bruce Baker were already in the race when businessman Lon Hosford of Alexandria Township this week announced his own candidacy for the 7th Congressional district.

“I know what it’s like to operate a small business and watch today’s administration and Congress destroy opportunity and freedom with taxes on taxes, and debt our children and grandchildren will repay for decades to come with nothing to show for it,” said Hosford, who’s worked for 30 years in the information technology field.

“Increasing taxes is not the answer to fixing the economy,” added the candidate, who describes himself as an everyday American. “The more taxes rise, the less money is available for investment by business, particularly small business where most jobs are created. Reducing taxes is the proven solution.” Lance facing three announced conservative candidates in 7th District primary
