FSG editor Lorin Stein will be taking over as editor of The Paris Review in April, the literary quarterly announced today.
“Lorin has an uncommon literary sensibility and eye for new talent,” said publisher Antonio Weiss in a statement. Stein’s authors at FSG have included Elif Batuman, Lydia Davis, Jeffrey Eugenides, Jonathan Franzen, Denis Johnson, Sam Lipsyte, Richard Price and James Wood. He’s also worked on FSG’s recent Bolaño translations.
Previous editor Philip Gourevitch stepped down last November after five years on the job.
