When asked by co-host Ken Fisher whether New York would lay off or furlough government workers as a way to help close the state’s enormous budget gap, Governor David Paterson said, “33 states have laid off or furloughed [employees].”
And, he added, “It could get to that. Delaying payments is a simpler way.”
