Newsday reporter Sumathi Reddy is joining The Wall Street Journal to become a restaurant reporter for its New York bureau.
The Journal is creating a restaurant beat to take advantage of our ever-increasing foodie/restaurant obsession here in the city, and Journal editors believe the Times is very beatable on the restaurant news front, a source said.
Ms. Reddy covered immigration and was a general assisngment reporter for Newsday.
