Dinallo was the superindent of insurance in New York when the AIG collapsed, taking with it a ton of taxpayer dollars. But as Dinallo, and his campaign noted, he was in charge of the company’s insurance practices, which were fine. As superindent, he wasn’t in charge of the company’s unrelated business investments.
