Today, Mashable reminds us that the America of Facebook is not the same as the America of real life. Facebook America is younger, and more female, and somewhat more Asian.
Also, things are possible in Facebook America that are not possible in real life. For example, 125.7% of DC’s population is on Facebook!
How can this be?
The DC number is greater than 100% because of the disproportionate amount of people who technically reside elsewhere but live in DC, and it would include people in surrounding cities who claim to live in DC on their profiles.
Oh: because online, people lie.
