Sporting contributions from 128 individuals, Rumson newspaper publisher Diane Gooch today reported raising $272,137.13, and spending $30,351.01, leaving her with $241,786.12.
“I pledge to match every dollar I raise to ensure we mount the strongest challenge to replace Frank Pallone,” said Gooch, a 6th Congressional District Republican challenger.
Pallone commands $4 million in his campaign treasury, but Gooch is not intimidated by the longtime incumbent, according to campaign manager Tony Sayegh.
“Frank Pallone is part of the problem in Washington and has lost touch with his constituents,” Sayegh said. “After more than two decades in Congress, it is time to turn the page on Frank Pallone. He no longer is representing the interests of this district. Instead, he has supported Nancy Pelosi 99.2% of the time, hoping that it will get him more clout in the Democratic Party and more money from PACs.”
Running against Gooch in the 6th Congressional District Primary, Highlands Mayor Anna Little today was not yet ready to report her fundraising totals.
“My strength is going to be the boots on the ground and the grassroots effort,” Little told PolitickerNJ.com.
