While the residents of Greenpoint do show a certain sense of neighborhood loyalty (“They beat us?” “Sunnyside?”), The New York Times found that they were also somewhat dubious regarding their fifth-place finish:

The wind turned, and a pungent blast of something chemical — nail polish remover? — wafted by. “The smells are bad; you know, they worry me,” said Ms. Aiuto, as [her toddler] Isaiah ran a few circles on the grass. “I guess a lot of places in New York are not going to be great for your health.”
