Is Jackson dropping mayoral bid?

Trenton mayoral candidate Eric Jackson has called a news conference for tomorrow afternoon, and there is considerable speculation that he will drop out of the race.  The outgoing mayor, Douglas Palmer, has not endorsed a candidate, but he is said to prefer anyone but Tony Mack, a former Mercer County Freeholder who ran against him in 2006, or City Councilman Manny Seguara.  The withdrawal of Jackson, the city’s public works director, could help another African American candidate, City Councilman Paul Pintella, secure a spot in the runoff – possibly against Seguara who could leverage Latino votes for one of the runoff slots.
