Not Everyone Is Happy in Park Slope

Yesterday, New York magazine published its special list of The Most Livable Neighborhoods in New York under a sunny picture of the winning neighborhood’s emblematic coffeeshop.

Little did they know Gorilla Coffee was the site of an awful, unbecoming insurrection that clearly should have knocked Park Slope from the winner’s perch (if the Livability Calculator considers such metrics as Barista Satisfaction, which one assumes they do).

A group of employees quit the coffee shop en masse over the weekend, claiming “perpetually malicious, hostile, and demeaning work environment that was not only unhealthy, but also, as our actions have clearly shown, unworkable.”
