NYC’s Weekly Top Ten in TV: “Romantically Challenged” Makes a Strong Challenge

Top 10 shows in New York, April 19 to April 25, according to Nielsen Data (total viewers, time shifting/DVR not included)

ABC’s new comedy series Romantically Challenged, which debuted on April 19 and stars Alyssa Milano, managed to crack the top ten right out of the gate.

The strong showing came despite some rough reviews.

Here is what Hank Stuever wrote about the series in The Washington Post:

Of all the ways to wince at new television shows, there is none more painful than the wince one makes while witnessing the clunk of a freshly failed sitcom. “Romantically Challenged,” debuting Monday night on ABC, is robotically assembled from spare parts, including a coffeehouse where the same booth is always available for too-sharply-focused banter among nitwits.
