TRENTON – As of noon, the Division of Elections at the Hudson County Clerk’s Office has no indication from Sheriff Juan Perez that he’s running in the June election.
But Perez spokesman Robert Knapp said write it down.
“We have until 4 p.m., and it’s better than a 100% chance that he’s filing to run,” Knapp told PolitickerNJ.com.
As a Republican?
“Yes, as a Republican,” Knapp said. “Absolutely.”
Unofficially dumped by the Democrats last month, Perez switched parties to run against former Undersheriff Frank Schillari, the Democrats’ choice.
