MSNBC.com executives today announced that Vaughn Ververs, the former Politico and CBS Public Eye editor will serve as the Web site’s new political editor. According to the release, Mr. Ververs will manage a team of Web journalists out of NBC News’ (cavernous and hopefully now asbestos free) D.C. bureau.
More from the release:
Ververs, with over 16 years experience in covering Washington and politics, was most recently a senior editor at POLITICO. Prior to joining POLITICO, he served as the senior political editor at CBSNews.com where he led coverage of the historic 2008 presidential election and created and edited the “Public Eye” blog on CBSNews.com. Before he joined CBS, he was editor of The Hotline, a daily Web briefing on politics published by the National Journal. While there he led strategy and coverage for many of the major political stories since 1992.
