This Sunday, Lost—that television program with the somewhat terrifying cultlike following—will come to an end forever. For its many fans, the show sure has a lot of questions to answer (is mankind essentially good or evil? What the heck was up with those polar bears?) and many loose ends to tie up.

We’ll reserve judgment till after Sunday as to how satisfied Losties are with the conclusion, but in the meantime, as we prepare to see an entertainment staple go the way of The Sopranos and The Wire, here’s an excellent montage of one of the show’s favorite tropes: the open eye close-up. Regular viewers will recognize this staple of Lost-dom immediately, and for the superfan, try to see how many of those dilating pupils you recognize (Terry O’Quinn, what beautiful eyes you have!); the montage is set to the haunting and sort of stress-inducing music we’ve come to know by Michael Giacchino.
