A group of Syracuse students plans to protest the choice of Jamie Dimon as commencement speaker by removing their robes at graduation on Sunday. No word yet on whether the students will go full monty for the dissent, but postings on related Facebook group walls reveal powerful, if unfocused, outrage.

Taking off your robes seems like a pretty tempered response to a man who symbolizes the unprecedented consolidation of corporate power, environmental destruction, and straight-up robbery with a smile.

“Environmental destruction?” The protest seems to be about the speaker selection process as much as it is about Dimon himself. One can only imagine what Columbia students are planning for Vikram Pandit.
