Rick Lazio isn’t interested in having a debate during the Republican gubernatorial primary. Celeste had an item earlier today about Steve Levy accepting an invitation to debate Lazio. But Lazio declined.
Then, of course, Levy’s campaign sent out a press release about it.
I emailed Lazio’s campaign and asked why he won’t debate.
Lazio’s spokesman, Barney Keller, did not answer that question. Instead, he repeated a quote he sent out earlier about wanting to debate Andrew Cuomo.
