Lesniak giving 1:2 odds on Christie, Sweeney fight

State Sen. Raymond Lesniak (D-Elizabeth) says he’s offering 1:2 odds for any PolitickerNJ.com readers who want to bet against Senate

State Sen. Raymond Lesniak (D-Elizabeth) says he’s offering 1:2 odds for any PolitickerNJ.com readers who want to bet against Senate President Stephen Sweeney (D-West Deptford) prevailing in a constitutional battle with Gov. Christopher Christie over the Wallace matter.  This week, Christie declined to renominate Associate Justice John Wallace for a final two years on the New Jersey Supreme Court, and instead picked Anne Murray Patterson, a partner at one of the state’s largest law firms.  Sweeney says the Senate will not hold hearings on any nominee for Wallace’s seat for the next two years.  Lesniak, reacting to a PolitickerNJ.com online poll, says he would donate all of his winning to a charity, Democrats for the Soul, in order to avoid the appearance that he is gambling.  Contact Senator Lesniak directly if you want to bet him.
