The main concern of Steve Levy’s campaign is getting enough Republican Party support to appear on the GOP ballot, and the launch of radio ads today is a shot across the party at poll-leader Rick Lazio, who trails in fund-raising.
The message Levy is sending with the radio ads, according to a campaign source, is: we’re financially competitive and Lazio’s not.
The ads are in every media market, Levy’s campaign said.
UPDATE: Lazio’s campaign declined to comment on the Levy ads.
