Even if Fox News and the White House are not on the best of terms, the White House apparently wants to keep a fine relationship with the Wall Street Journal.
Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel kept a backchannel open to News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch, telling him the White House “welcomed his ideas,” Jonathan Alter reports in his new book on Obama’s first year.
The goal of the calls: To maintain warm relations with the Wall Street Journal.
