Report: Healy and McDonough helping GOP Sheriff

The Jersey Journal’s Augie Torres reports today that Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy (who is, at least for the next few weeks, the Hudson County Democratic Chairman) and Harrison Mayor Raymond McDonough took part in a campaign strategy meeting for Democrat-turned-Republican Hudson County Sheriff Juan Perez.  Perez switched parties after it became clear he had lost party support for re-election, and will now face Democrat Frank Schillari in the general election.

Editor’s Note: Healy and McDonough say they have endorsed Schillari and that the Jersey Journal report is inaccurate.
