Looks like the Soho Historic District is expanding.
The city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission put the Soho historic district on its agenda for Tuesday, a sign that the agency is ready to expand the boundaries of the cast-iron historic district, extending building and development restrictions a bit to the east and west of the current boundaries (the district currently is bounded by Houston, Canal, West Broadway, and Crosby).
The extension, more or less, adds half a block to the eastern and western edges.
As Historic Districts Council notes, it would add a bunch of new cast-iron buildings . However, based on the boundaries from this map, it seems it would also include a BP gas station on the southern border.
