“Stock market crashes as Europe implodes,” Henry Blodget, Business Insider’s chief, wrote on Twitter. “Dow plunges 300,” he said in another. Tweets followed for 350, 400, 500, 560, 720, 750, 850, 900 and 1,000. The last post was in all caps. Lockhart Steele, who runs websites like Curbed and Eater, responded with the tweet: “#hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget #hblodget.”

The Dow had fallen below 10,000, then rebounded to 10,500. “The market has settled somewhat,” an update to Business Insider’s crash post said.
