Cecilia was still married to Nicolas Sarkozy when a photograph on the cover of Paris Match showed the lovely couple hunting for an apartment in New York. The editor had to leave after upsetting the French government--but, on a brighter note, the couple ended up buying something after their wedding.

There's nothing like a husband who believes in his wife. Here is Mr. Attias at the New York Public Library, speaking at the Inaugural Gala Dinner for the Cecilia Attias Foundation for Women. On June 24, the day after the New York Forum, the foundation is holding a daylong event called the Dialogue for Action.

Here Mr. Attias greets the Organisation of Islamic Conference's president, Karim Wade, the son of Senegalese president Abdoulaye Wade. It was the last day of the 11th annual O.I.C., a 57-country affair in Dakar in March 2008 that Mr. Attias had produced.
