Mayor Bloomberg got a bit crabby today when asked about his girlfriend Diana Taylor’s flirtation with a U.S. Senate bid. (The Times had a piece Monday with remarks from Taylor saying she “really wanted” to run, but decided against it given Bloomberg’s job. Taylor was endorsing Republican David Malpass, who is seeking to unseat Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.)
Here’s the exchange:
WSJ reporter Michael Saul: Do you agree or disagree with Diana—
Bloomberg:—Yes, is the answer.
Saul:—With Diana Taylor that Gillibrand should be unseated?
Bloomberg: You go ask somebody else. I don’t agree or disagree with anybody and, it’s a ridiculous question.
[Correction: Initially, the question to Bloomberg was written as “… could be defeated?” as opposed to “should be unseated?”)
