Corsi counting on right-to-life vote

In the 12th District, longshot off-the-line Republican David Corsi plans a victory party tonight at his home in Oceanport.

But he knows the wall that he’s up against appears unbreachable in the zigzagging, five county constituted 12th, where establishment Republican Scott Sipprelle has the party backing in Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, Monmouth and Hunterdon.

“If the right to life vote comes out big, then I’m good,” Corsi told PolitickerNJ.com. “We feel good about it. I don’t really pay attention to turnout numbers.”

The winner of Sipprelle v. Corsi will face U.S. Rep. Rush Holt in the November general election.

Sipprelle received a decent headline after winning the Middlesex County Republican Organization line when Fair Haven Mayor Mike Halfacre – who had mustered some Tea Party support – bowed out of the race and backed Sipprelle over Corsi.
