Andrew Cuomo and his running mate, Robert Duffy, have picked up the endorsement of the Building and Construction Trade Council.
The umbrella group–which represents some 220,000 members across a variety of construction unions–cited Mr. Cuomo’s effort to create new jobs, as described in his policy book (see Chapter Four: New York Works, in which Mr. Cuomo says the state’s infrastructure is “becoming obsolete”).
“Andrew Cuomo and Robert Duffy have put forward a strong agenda to rebuild New York and get our fiscal house in order so we create good paying jobs across the state. We wholeheartedly endorse them because we know they are the best equipped put New York on a path for growth,” said Ed Malloy, President of the New York State Building and Construction Trades Council, in a release emailed by the campaign.
Mr. Duffy accepted the endorsement this afternoon, according to the email.
