As of now, two of the top three stories on Post Local are about shootings. The third is about a hit-and-run.

The move to secure its coverage of local news in Washingon precedes the launch of Albritton’s TBD, led by former Washington City Paper editor Erik Wemple.

The Post relaunched its politics page, PostPolitics.com, five weeks ago to compete more directly online with Politico.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wemple has been busy hiring bloggers.
