It’s not bad being Simon Rich–son of Frank Rich, SNL writer, novelist, and now screenwriter.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Up in the Air director Jason Reitman has purchased the movie writes to Elliot Allagash, the comic novel of high school misadventures that Rich published this spring. Rich will adapt the book; Reitman will produce, but may or may not direct.
As for casting, we have one plea: tempting though he might be for a story of teenage weirdos, please, no Michael Cera.
