Summer is too hot for long hair, so let’s just chop it all off, go enjoy some movie theater air-conditioning and wish we looked like Jean Seberg. Film Forum is screening Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless through June 10th in honor of the movie’s 50th anniversary, complete with a restored print. This much we remember from high school French: Super chouette! (Which probably sounds about as normal in French as “Super great!” does in English.) Meanwhile, back in Brooklyn, elaborately capitalized film event BAMcinemaFEST gets under way on June 9 with the New York premiere of Cyrus, starring John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei and Catherine Keener. Fest-wise, Manhattan offers NewFest, the New York LGBT film festival. To which we say: No “Q”? Get with the program, guys. NewFest runs June 3-13 in Chelsea. The “Centerpiece Film” (June 9) will be Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, with an appearance by Joan Rivers and Michael Musto.
