Program: What We Love This Week (June 22-28)

It’s Pride Week! The annual parade starts at noon Sunday and runs from 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue to Christopher and Greenwich. Heritage of Pride, the organizing body, gently reminds paradegoers: “The law prohibits nudity below the waist. Police will be present at The March and it is assumed that they will enforce this law.” Because Vice presides over the Creators Project, we’re assuming the law will be a little more lax at the Milk Studios extravaganza. With Interpol, Sleigh Bells, Mark Ronson, and Die Antwoord (Saturday, June 26, 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., registration closed [Sorry]). And on a somber note: Sylvia’s restaurant in Harlem marks the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death with dinner, some Thriller dancing, and a candlelit walk to the Apollo (Friday, June 25, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.). Of course, this involves eating a lot of soul food-so maybe the mood won’t be too somber?
