Weinberg introduces women’s healthcare allocation bill, which passes 30-10

TRENTON – Senate Democrats are driving an argument to restore $7.5 million to the $29.4 billion budget for women’s health – money Gov. Chris Christie removed with a pro life kabash.

“In the 21st Century, we women are entitled to birth control,” argues state Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Teaneck). “I am hoping men and women on both sides of the aisle know this isn’t a Democrat or Republican issue… this is about women’s health. It’s about women who are uninsured or under-insured.”

State Sen. Jennifer Beck (R-Red Bank) stands and says she will support the legislation. So does state Sen. Diane Allen (R-Edgewater Park).

Senate Bill 2139 passes by a vote of 30-10.
