TRENTON – After the formal congratulations of bipartisanship, the two parties start to politely jockey for credit.
The Republicans presumably will praise the Democrats for backing a Gov. Chris Chris Chrstie initiative, but right now, Assemblyman John Burzichelli (D-Paulsboro) rises as a member of the legislature who put his Democratic Party fingerprints on the original 4 percent statutory cap.
“Four percent to two percent is a natural step,” says Burzichelli. “I congratulate the governor.”
