— Once jauntily referred to as “the baron of bad tidings” by the Los Angeles Times, Hollywood strategic communication magnate Michael Sitrick has spent $4.225 million on an apartment at 980 Fifth Avenue, one of the most exclusive addresses in the city. Mr. Sitrick’s new home is on Central Park and overlooks the Met.

Nicholas J. Munafo III, president of Shiseido, the oldest cosmetics company in the world and also apparently the first importer of seltzer to Japan, has bought a $1,649,565 million apartment at 305 East 85th Street. Also listed on the deed is Joseph Guigliano Jr., associate vice president of Cartier. The well-accessorized pair will have the golden opportunity to “recreate” in the building’s designated Wii room.
