A new poll today out by Survey USA shows a big lead for Kathleen Rice, with the Nassau County district attorney with a 23-point lead over her nearest rivals, state Sen. Eric Schneiderman and Assemblyman Richard Brodsky.

Rice leads across all categories–women, men, the old, the young, the rich, the poor, and even has a 20-point lead among votes who call themselves liberal.

There are some big howevers here, however. For one thing, Rice still trails “undecided” by four percentage points.  And the other four candidates combine for the same 32% of the vote that Rice garners, meaning there could be a sizeable anti-Rice contingent waiting to coalesce around a candidate. Plus, the election is still 8 weeks away, but this is an argument that will have less and less traction with each passing day.
