President Barack Obama touched down in Newark at 1:29 p.m. and will head to Edison to talk economic recovery at a sub shop.
Obama was met by Gov. Chris Christie and Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who chatted with each other and did some hand shaking on the ropes before the president arrived.
The prez is choppering over to Edison in Marine One, most likely to make sure he’s not late for his taping of The View tonight. It’s unsure where Obama is landing in Edison (there’s no airport), but an advanceman jokingly said, “He’s landing on top of the Tastee Sub Shop.”
Air Force One will keep the engines running until Obama arrives back after 8 p.m.
