Yesterday brought the news that Noel Ashman may be taking over the Fedora space in the West Village to open a private club. But as it turns out, it is the owner of Joseph Leonard, the cozy, celebrity-studded eatery nearby that is taking over the space to be named Little Wisco, reports Grub Street.
Originally, Grub Street theorized that Little Wisco might stand for Wisconsin, where actor Chris Noth, a previous investor in Mr. Ashman’s ventures, is from. It turns out Gabriel Stulman, the owner of Joseph Leonard, actually graduated from University of Wisconsin.
Community Board 2 has already approved his liquor license and the place will probably open sometime in the fall.
