Restaurant for Bros Has a Pretty ‘Bro’ Attitude About Paying Its Workers, Is Sued

From Eater today we have news that Brother Jimmy’s — an after-work chain of restaurants that apparently rank among the most popular in New York — has been sued for labor violations.

Four current and former workers from various Brother Jimmy’s locations allege that they were only paid a flat rate for 40 work hours per week, and seek compensation for the significant overtime they’ve put in over the years. If they’re successful, the payout could be, as Eater puts it, “hefty.”

This isn’t the first time that the laid-back, aw-shucks, down home restaurant chain has landed in legal trouble. In 2008, they were sued by a woman who suffered horrible burns at the Upper West Side location when a bartender stunt involving Bacardi 151 went awry.
