The campaign arm of the New York Senate Democrats just sent out an email slamming SRCC leader Tom Libous for appearing at a Tea Party event with gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino.
Paladino, the Democrats note, was busted for forwarding a series of racist and sexist emails, including one that portrayed dancing African tribesmen under the headline “Obama Inauguration Reheasal.” Paladino has called the unearthed emails a smear, and said he simply forwarded the e-mails to “a very specific bunch of friends … from friends who sent them to me.”
Lumping in Steve Levy with Paladino, today’s email asks “when the campaign finance filings are revealed on Wednesday, we’ll see if the SRCC’s support of these turncoats is worth the price tag.”
Regardless, it is somewhat odd that Libous would appear alongside Paladino, since Rick Lazio is now the GOP’s gubernatorial designee, and Paladino is threatening to run on a third party line.
